The Second Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Conference Weekend is here! YAY! I always feel like Conference comes at the perfect time. I think the Lord was inspired to hold it every six months, just so that we could be taught from the Lord's apostles and be reminded of the truths TWICE a year. I always look forward to hearing from Elder Holland, he is my favorite speaker at Conference. Can we have favorites? If you ever get a chance, go to speeches.byu.edu and read ALL of his talks. He was the president of BYU, so he always gave some great/funny/inspiring messages. Oh yeah, I wasn't a student when he was president, I was probably 3 years old. But, you know.

And, this weekend will be especially wonderful because on Saturday afternoon, we get to sustain the new Presidency of the church. It will be bittersweet to not anticipate to hear President Hinckley's closing remarks, but I really am excited to hear from President Monson. It will be different. But amazing. Just another reason why the gospel is true. And, on top of all of that, I get to spend 8 hours cuddling up with my lover, with nowhere to go (except maybe to dreamland...but we try to stay awake :-)! And, the sweet rolls and time with family isn't so bad either.

I hope you all get a chance to tune in to the awesome Conference broadcast this weekend. And, if you don't. Well, just get onto lds.org in four days and it will be online. :-) The Church is ALWAYS finding ways for no excuses.

Conference is my favorite time of the year too!!!! I just let everything go and spend 8 glorious hours glued to the tv, pen in hand, writing down all of the messages meant "especially for me." Then, on Monday, our family has our favorite FHE: share your favorite two talks and why. Sometimes, favorites are duplicated, but the reasons why are always different. I have a favorite too: Elder Bednar. His vocabulary and symbolism is amazing. But I must admit, I know this Conference will be a tad "weird" what without cute little President Hinckley manning the helm. Oh well -- I guess I just need to grow up and move on. Enjoy your fabulous weekend!!!!

I also love conference. :) And, this one is sadly devoid of comments...what is wrong with all of us, anyway?! We have things to say about jokes, but nothing about TRUTH!??! Come ON!! Lol. :) Per your request, I have blogged more. Please. Don't let all my hard work go to waste. Heheh.
