Something for your appetite...

So...I know I have been promising this AMAZING-ULTIMATE blog post in the works. And, I'll be honest with you....I have even finished writing it. Yep, it's sitting in my "Drafts" pile on my "Dashboard" (sidenote: brilliant name for our control panel page...love it). But, I'll be even more honest with you: I don't have the pictures yet to go along with it. Let me explain...
The only pictures that you see on this blog have been courtesy of a) google images, b) facebook, or c) stealing photos from my sister's blog. So, you see....none of them are actually coming from off of my computer, or my camera. Why, you ask? Well, the only computer that we have in our possession right now is the laptop my parents got me for my freshman year of college. Six years ago. Normally, something from 2002 would still seem "brand-spankin' new". Nope. Not when it comes to stupid computers. The minute you BUY a computer, it is already out of style. Oh, and I hope I mentioned that the laptop that we have actually has a floppy drive. I would probably still use floppy disks, too if people at Circuit City didn't look at me so strangely when I asked for where their "floppy disks were".
So...the point is: I don't want to post this one until I have the pictures. And Brandon and I keep having these great plans to take our camera to my mom's house, or to his parents' house and upload the pictures from there. And, I even brought our camera TO his parents house for the sole purpose of my blog-post. Project failed. I forgot all about it (my completely insane and unmanageable short-term memory will be another post). So, I know all of my two loyal readers are still in suspense. Thank you for your patience. But I didn't want you to be wondering where this said "ultimate" post was. So, I am warning you.

Instead, I will tell you about what happened today at work. So, this guy Chuck* works here. And, he is apparently in love with a "girl" that none of us think is right for him. Well, this said "Chuck" kept telling all of us coworkers (and I am probably the nosiest of them all) that he was planning on breaking up with her. And, we were all secretly leaping for joy. So yesterday, Chuck left work without telling anybody. That is NOT protocol. He had taken down the picture of him and his "girl"that was sitting by his computer, and he had left his cell phone on his desk. So...we were hoping there might be some good stories when we got to work today. (okay, probably just me. Because I live for work-gossip). Well...today Steve* comes over and hands out a letter that was left on Chuck's desk, and gives it to the boss* (I hope you're following along with all of these asterisks. Just stay with me here). And in the letter was apparently Chuck's "letter of resignation". We were all very VERY confused. But, me being the Jack Bauer* that I am, got onto Facebook to see what Chuck's recent activity was. (Keep in mind, this is a big thing for me. I don't do facebook very much). And, under Chuck's profile it said "Chuck is listed as engaged to stinky-mean-girl*!!" What?!? I know. We were just as confused.
So, here is the drama that I have conjured up:
Chuck didn't want his coworkers to know his "wedding plans" to the girl that nobody likes, so he just went along with the "break up" story. And stinky-girl* didn't want Chuck to be working somewhere that she knew people weren't on her team. So, he quit. He chose one over the other. And he chose her.
I'm calling Jerry Springer. This is good.

Hoppy Easter!

So, you might be thinking to yourself, "They don't have a baby," or "They don't know the Easter bunny." And I would say to you, "You're right, we don't. On both accounts." BUT, when your older sister sends an email with THIS goodness in it, how can you not resist posting it on your blog? Of course, she beat me to it, and already put it on her blog. And I'm okay with that, because it is her child. But, it's my niece. So, I have the right and the privilege to post a picture of her. And, if I had a scanner, I would post a picture of our two other nieces and three cute nephews from last Easter. But, I don't have a scanner. Happy Easter anyway!

Also, the nice long post is still in the works. Seriously. I just want to keep you on such high suspense that you just can't take it anymore.

Inspiring or Disturbing?

So, I've got this GREAT post in the works for you, but I didn't have time to finish it. Promised to be long. And, possibly too long for your eyes... but never for mine, I like reading about me. (read: the way you always check the digital camera after you take a group picture and zoom in only on yourself). Kind of like that.
But in the meantime.......since I have sisters galore having babies. I thought I'd post this:

My mom doesn't believe in immunization for children. Or adults, for that matter. So, please enlighten me.
Does this picture:
a) make you want to never take your baby to the doctor for immunization
b) make you want to immunize your baby
c) make you want to save the baby from being choked
d) A and C

Seriously. Somebody needs to step into these people's advertisement company and do some rearranging.

Tagged...Sorry.

I tagged myself. Is that lame? I figure, that while you were all tagging each other, I was missing out on all of the fun. So...I am pretending like you would have thought to tag me had I had this blog.

10 years ago:
I was anxiously awaiting the day when I would turn 14 so that I could go to my first Church Dance! So, I'm pretty sure I was in my family room, watching the *NSYNC music videos so that I could woo my fellow church-dance-goers once I hit the dance floor. Also, I was 13 year old. Which meant I was an 8th grader. Which meant I was the TinMan in our "Speech and Drama" class for our school's production of "Wizard of Oz". Honestly? I know.

5 things on my to-do list today:

1. "work" for four more hours before it's the weekend

2. call Papa Murphy's and order a specialty pizza so that I don't have to make dinner on a Friday night

3. spend the evening with my husband, Brandon. Formerly known as "B"
4. finish this can of TreeTop Apple juice before it gets warm.

5. go to sleep. Yes, it's a to-do...because it is something that I LOVE to do.

I enjoy:
cuddling with my husband on our love-seat (more like trying to keep each other on the couch without falling off), American Idol, chocolate, my family, my in-laws, cute nieces and nephews, funny jokes, lame jokes that only I think are funny, singing, dancing, skiing, listening to Brandon play and sing songs on our Clavinova, playing songs that I try to make up on our Clavinova, making new friends, keeping the old, exercising, Body Pump class, my new Ipod, Brandon's Abercrombie jeans, my cute jeans that make my "back-end" look soooo fine, :-), inspirational quotes, scriptures, General Conference, EFY music (and no, I'm NOT ashamed to admit that. Just get into my car and you'll see), stalking friends' blogs, blogging

What would I do if I were suddenly made a billionaire:
Definitely pay our way through medical school, definitely quit work, buy all of the fancy ingredients for the fancy recipes that I want to make but they're too "fancy", buy a bigger couch (refer to previous question), give our families the money they need so they can pay off their couches too :-), be a contestant on "Deal or No Deal" just so that if I end up going home without anything I will just look Howie Mandell in the face and say, "I have a BILLION dollars, sucka!"

3 of my bad habits:

1. being emotional to my husband

2. chewing ice

3. eating chocolate

5 places I have lived:

1. Belgrade, Montana

2. Arvada, CO

3. Provo, UT

4. Lehi, UT

5. Sandy, UT

5 jobs that I have had:

1. I'm not quite sure what my title was, but I'm pretty sure all I did was file client folders at Arvada Vision Clinic. And...I got paid $5.10 for it. Don't worry, I quit when I realized they were abusing my amazing talents.

2. I was a temp for ADECCO. And, seriously, the coolest thing I did was work for a Cremation Society. They offered "cremation insurance" for people who were still living, but wanted to be cremated when they died. Mainly, I spent my days answering the phones telling these people they were creepy for calling such a place.

3. EFY Counselor, Building Counselor, Coordinator. In no particular order. I was an EFY-junkie at a teenager, and my life-long dream was to be an EFY counselor. Well, they didn't hire me the first year (I'd like to think it was because I didn't wear a jean skirt to the interview), but boy were they SORRY when they hired me the next year!

4. "Get Motivated" Manager- pretty much, I traveled around to different states and pretended like I knew what I was doing. Apparently, it worked for awhile.

5. HeadStart teacher- I got paid to play with little 4 year olds all day long. So...I have thousands of stories about what cute little kids say. One for the record: We were counting to five in Spanish, and this little boy said, "Uno, Dos, Tres, Quatro.................Five-toe?" hahaha. Love it.

5 things people don't know about me:

1. I had a secret club at Bubble Pond Park when I was 8. And, you probably never knew that it all took place on some disgusting couch that somebody decided to dispose of into the creek. In retrospect, I am sure glad that I didn't have bacteria and pesticides on my radar.

2. I have a bald spot on the top of my head, and it grows teeny little white hairs out of it. Now I'm starting to wonder if that came from the couch.
3. I shaved my arms when I was 16, and then stopped shaving them for five years. Gross, I know. But, luckily my wonderful husband (boyfriend at the time) secretly told me in a round-about way, that my arms were "hairy" (to say the least). So, I continue to shave. From now until forever.

4. My family had a nickname when I was growing up. It was "Nerdy". And, I think the only reason why they named me that was because they knew I would grow up to be the coolest one in the family. I love reverse psychology.
5. My long-time friend, Chelsey and I don't eat sugar in February. And we have been doing that since we were 16. Except, now our rules are getting more laxed....I can't wait to see what we come up with when we're 60!

And...I tag Kaime. Because she needs it. :-)

Zack Morris called: your phone is showing

So, I think I am obsessed now. All night I was brewing up some great new idea for my first "real" post on this new blog. And, I hope you know what I mean when I say that I actually feel excited when I see that someone has commented on my first post. I told B about the fact that "we" (of course by "we" I mean "I") have a blog now, and he asked me what I named it. When I told him it was named "The Wilky Way" he laughed. But, it wasn't the "that's awesome" laugh, it was the "you're serious?" laugh. I told him he was probably just jealous that he didn't come up with it, and that he should just be glad I didn't name it the "Wilkinson Center". Then he reminded me that I couldn't do that anyway because it's his Dad's email address. So much for original thought.
But, I have decided that having a blog is like getting your first cell phone. I got my first cell phone on Christmas of 2000. And, if you do the math right, I'm pretty sure I was too young to have one. But, my goodly parents were probably still trying to make up for the "fish-tank" Christmas...so, I was happy to have a cell phone. I thought for sure that my cell phone came straight from Zack Morris, because I couldn't even fit it in my purse. (Not to mention that my purse was a jean pocket with a zipper on top). So, I never used the phone. Because I didn't know how, and I didn't think I needed it. Everyplace I went had a phone...the church, the school office, my friend's house, Subway, King's Soopers (I didn't really go anywhere else), so I didn't think I needed a phone.
Fast forward 6 years later, when I couldn't even imagine living WITHOUT a cell phone and I met my future-husband. He gave me his personal phone number, and when I called his number for the first time, I was shocked to hear a GIRL'S voice on the other end. To my surprise, it was his little sister. What?!? This guy doesn't have a CELL phone?! Well, he quickly taught me that he was going to wait until he absolutely needed a cell phone before he got one. And, he actually held out until May of 2007. That is almost 6 1/2 years AFTER I got my first cell phone.

So, I think a blog is like getting a cell phone. Everybody has one now, and I didn't. Instead of people asking me what my phone number was, they would say, "what's your blog address?" Whoa. Insert blogspot.com.
So, to all of you veteran bloggers who have trudged through the changes of blogspot, I tip my hat off to you (my ski hat, I don't really own any other hats). I, on the other hand wanted to wait until I absolutely couldn't take it anymore. And, I have succumbed. And I love it.

At your service

Well, I have had a LOT of requests to start my own blogging. Personally, I would like to think that it is because people want to stalk MY life as much as I want to stalk theirs. But, I am sure it's just one of those things where people say, "Get your own life" except their saying, "Get your own blog!"
And, really...I'm okay with that.
One day, back in the day I had said something about this lady in our ward that blogs almost twice a day, and he slyly commented, "She must have no life." Whoa was he mistaken!! So, I am here to prove that you can have a blog and a life all at the same time.

And, just for the record: we are the Wilk's. That is our code name on the internet. We are known as being products of EFY, but we would like to believe that EFY is a product of US. We married on July 19, 2007 and couldn't be happier! We live in Provo, Utah, and it's okay if you're jealous. We get it all the time.
