Almost ready for 2009....

In keeping with the tradition of chronological order, I thought it appropriate to post our Christmas blog in February. Please stay tuned in April when I recap our Valentine's Day.

We spent Christmas Eve and morning with the Wilkinsons' this year, and got spoiled by all of the great gifts we got from his and my family. I love Christmas. Even when it's February. No, especially when it's February.

Last year I was still trying to figure out how to be a married woman in her own neighborhood, so I didn't really get around to making any neighborhood gifts. After twelve months of living in my own skin, I finally got around to fitting in around the neighborhood. Well, I should use the term "fitting in" loosely. I digress....

I got this great idea from my favorite NieNie, and made these cute tins out of Baby Formula/Hot Chocolate tins. Luckily, I have coworkers that save their cans, so all I had to do was ask around at work for empty cans. I washed and sanitized (since I'm clean like that), and covered them with Christmas wrapping paper.

The Oreo balls were the hit though. Man, I love those things...And, I have to say I may or may not have sampled a few for myself.

Speaking of February, me and some good ol' buds of mine always do a "No Sugar" month in February. This month...I'm only four days into it and I'm already worried that I might give in. It's all this talk about Oreo balls..

Ha ha, we must be on the same wavelength!

Ya, no sugar bites the big one...I have pretty much been doing it already since January...I am glad I have a buddy now when our families have their rockin parties with all sorts of deliciousness, what devils.

Your oreo canisters look super cute, maybe we will have to get together for an oreo-ball-neighbor- gift-party next year :)

Are those the Oreo balls that Kaime makes? They are SO good. I want her to make some for me (since, if I made them, I would mess them up)! Those tins are cute.

okay um i get reallllly excited when i see that you've posted something new. maybe you should make this a more regular thing so my heart gets used to it.

YOU are so crafty! love the gifts. AND the oreo balls. mmm. and i still think you're nuts for continuing the no-sugar feb. every time i eat anything with honey i think "erica would approve; this isn't processed sugar." :)

Don't do it erica!!! It's not worth it. Sugar free is the way to be!

Wow!!! I knew you were making the o-so-tasty oreo balls, but I had no idea you went a couple steps further and made your own tins, Nie Nie style!!! I'm very impressed. But I guess I shouldn't be so surprised by your craftiness since you always come up with the most creative home made gifts form mom and dad!!!

I do have to say that those Oreo balls were AMAZING! I feel bad for Alan and Sharee, because I think I ate them all! Hope you guys are doing well!
